Artificial Sky Blue Magic Shrimp Pairing Breeding Process and Method
Artificial sky blue magic shrimp is generally 8CM in 7 months and are considered mature and can be bred. Breeding requires a male and a female to be carried out together. If they are not placed in the same fish tank, they will fight with each other and cannot breed.
The process requires strong crayfish to be in estrus, for example, 8CM for male and 10CM for female. If the female shrimp is in estrus, it can be mated. If the male shrimp is in estrus, it can only chase the female shrimp due to physical problems and cannot mate. The same is true in reverse.
Crayfish
When in heat, the crayfish uses the first pair of legs to support its body, the tail touches the ground, and then uses the last pair of legs to comb the fluff under the belly (swimming feet). In unilateral heat, the shrimp in heat will put its claws in front of the year, with the claws touching the claws to form a heart shape, and then push the other shrimp. If the other shrimp is in heat, they will collide with each other with their claws, causing one of the two shrimps to flip over for mating. If the other shrimp is not in heat, it will run around. When the shrimp in heat is larger, it is easy to catch up with the other shrimp and flip the other shrimp over for mating.
During mating, the two shrimps put their bellies together, the stronger one uses its pliers to straighten the other shrimp’s pliers, and then the two shrimps hold each other tightly with their legs. Mating can be completed 1-2 times, and each mating lasts from 20 seconds to 1 minute.
After mating, the male shrimp will leave, and the female shrimp will run to the shrimp nest or a dark and safe place, curl its tail into a ball, and then use the ball to support the ground to raise its body too high, and turn its two claws back to the maximum. At this time, it is storing sperm. Then on the same day, you will see some white mucus around the tail of the female shrimp curled into a ball.
Female shrimp
In the next 3-5 days, the female shrimp will often turn sideways, or turn over completely, and then stay still. This is when she is ovulating. Generally, we should not disturb her. Later, the female shrimp will roll her tail into a ball and run back to the shrimp nest. Basically, she rarely comes out for 15-20 days. Because artificial sky blue magic shrimp is a kind of shrimp that is very easy to kick eggs, try not to disturb them at this time. If you get close to take pictures and scare the female shrimp, or change the water or temperature during the period, it will cause the eggs to kick.
When feeding, try to put it far away from the shrimp and put it quietly. Because the female shrimp rarely eats during the hatching period. But the male shrimp also needs enough food. If the shrimp nest is large, the male shrimp will return to the nest with the female shrimp. If the shrimp nest is small, the male shrimp will pile stones or bottom sand outside the shrimp nest to block the hole. Do not take the male shrimp away during this period.
During the 1-7 days of incubation, the female shrimp will keep its tail wrapped and will not open it. However, if it is too frightened or if you try to open its tail manually, you will see that the eggs are dark blue and very small.
After 8-15 days of incubation, some female shrimps with more breeding experience will open their tails slightly. Because the eggs are already a little bigger than before, it is difficult for the tails to completely cover them. You can see that the eggs are dark green (because we can’t find this color. So we use this color instead. Normally, it is a little darker than this color, tending towards black).
Female shrimp tail
After 15-25 days of incubation, the female shrimp will start to become active. Open her tail, and run out to find food. You will see a lot of very black eggs hanging under her belly. At this time, the eggs are relatively stable, and you can take pictures with peace of mind. You can also secretly take the male shrimp away to mate with another nest of shrimp. Of course, it is best not to take the male shrimp away. But you must not go after the female shrimp. Because if you scare the female shrimp, it will cause it to jump or run quickly. Which will also cause the eggs to fall.
After 25-30 days of incubation, the shrimps have gradually taken shape. When you observe, you will see two small eyes and a small black head. At this time, if you are curious, you can catch the female shrimps and watch them, but don’t leave them out of the water for too long.
Normal water temperature is 26-30 degrees, and the shrimp will be born within 30-35 days. The artificial sky blue magic shrimp is about 0.7 cm long, with transparent claws and a transparent light blue body. 1-3 days after birth, the shrimp will gradually turn blue. You can see cloud spots and red claws on the body. Generally, the shrimp will come out to play during the day. It run to the tail of the female or male shrimp to rest at night.
Sky Blue Magic Shrimp will hatch after 30-35 days of reproduction. Depending on the number of reproduction times and body size of the shrimp. There will be 50-100 hatchlings in a nest.
